Editor's brief

What every Sorare manager should know this week

A quick read distilled from the matchday desk — fixture swings, card supply and rule changes you can act on today.

  1. Captain picks carry a 20× ceiling — but also a 0× floor.

Score picks now use fixture-adjusted expected value. The variance is wider than the public dashboards show.

    4 min read
  2. Unique supply shrank by 14 cards overnight.

Twelve retirements and two long-term injuries reduced the active Unique set. The scarcity desk mapped the impact.

    3 min read
  3. Points system v3.4 raised goalkeeper saves to 6 points each.

The change rewards shot-stoppers but compresses defender scoring. Read the methodology page before tweaking your roster.

    5 min read
  4. The Under-23 global game added four new tournaments.

Eligibility tightened: only players aged 23 or younger on the registration date qualify. The lineup desk published a shortlist.

Manager briefings

What the lineup desk is reading this matchday

Three alternating briefings from the journal's analyst pool — each grounded in the public points system and verified fixture data.

Briefing 01

The captain math actually rewards defenders in cup weeks

Cup weeks compress the fixture list and inflate save and clearance totals. The desk's fixture-adjusted model shows three defenders cleared a +EV captain threshold in round 11 — including a €4.2m Limited card that beat every Unique alternative in its price band.

Briefing 02

Why Unique supply contracts faster than the dashboards suggest

Public scarcity dashboards miss retirements, injuries and sanctions. The desk manually reconciles the active Unique set every Monday, and the latest reconciliation removed fourteen cards — three of them high-volume auction names.

Briefing 03

Five-at-the-back stays alive in Champion Europe

The points system v3.4 rewards clean sheets and interceptions, which keeps five-at-the-back competitive in cup weeks. Three of the four finalists at last weekend's Champion Europe cup ran a five-defender shape.

What active managers say after twelve months in the global game

Quotes from managers the journal has profiled this season. Names anonymised where the contributor requested it.

The lineup builder is the first tool that respects my time. I set the captain pick once and the fixture-adjusted math does the rest. I sold two cards I had overvalued after the scarcity index came out.
Manager ASeason 12, top 4% global
Captain watch is the page I open first each matchday. The 20× ceiling is brutal — and the fixture-adjusted expected value is closer to the truth than any ranking I have seen elsewhere.
Manager BSeason 8, top 1.4% in Champion Europe
Under-23 changed my approach to the global game. The four new tournaments reward managers who scout early and rotate aggressively across the calendar. The desk's shortlist is gold.

FAQ

What readers ask us most often

Answers reflect the journal's editorial position. For account-specific questions, please contact Sorare customer care directly.

Is Sorare legal in my country?

Sorare operates under regulation in most European jurisdictions, in parts of the Americas and under regional licensing in selected Asian markets. The journal maintains a country-by-country legality reference, but you should always confirm the current position with your local regulator and review Sorare's published terms before you play.

See our legality reference for the latest mapping.

How does the captain pick actually work?

The captain scores up to twenty times their base card score for the matchday. The vice-captain scores up to ten times. If the captain does not play, the vice-captain inherits the multiplier. If neither plays, the multiplier is forfeited — there is no fallback.

The captain watch desk publishes a fixture-adjusted expected value for every captain candidate before each matchday deadline.

What is the bonus code and how do I redeem it?

The bonus code unlocks the welcome pack when you register a new account. Codes rotate monthly and may carry regional restrictions. The bonus code page on the journal tracks active codes, their expiry dates and any eligibility requirements.

See the bonus code tracker for the current code.

Can I delete my Sorare account?

Yes. Account deletion is available inside the Sorare app under Account → Privacy. The journal has a step-by-step guide, plus a note on what happens to your cards and your wallet balance during the deletion window.
